At today’s F8 – Facebook Developers Conference, Mark Zuckerberg said the company is building technologies to allow doctors to screen people more accurately using imaging to detect diseases such as skin cancer.
If Facebook is successful, it will be possible to detect illnesses early and prevent a wider spread of disease, avoiding the damage caused by a late diagnosis.
“Advances in AI can save people’s lives, Zuckerberg says, giving the example of detecting skin cancer. Programs could help to detect disease to aid doctors.”
