Dorothy Hamill is a name that you probably recognize. The ice skating legendary figure is not just a hero on the ice but also a breast cancer survivor. Being cancer free for more than six years now, Dorothy has engaged herself in a new awareness campaign called “BeWisER About Breast Cancer”. In this video, shared by CBS Los Angeles, the champion talks with reporter Sandra Mitchell (also a breast cancer survivor) from CBS, about her campaign which focuses on helping women with estrogen positive cancer, to determine if it benefits them staying on medication or if, by stopping the medicines, the risks of recurrence rises. In Dorothy’s words, “it’s a campaign for people to learn, to know that there are options”. Watch the interview above to learn more about Dorothy’s story and this campaign.
