Breast Cancer and Pregnancy: Ashley’s Happy Ending

Having breast cancer is a traumatic experience for any woman, but finding out you have breast cancer while you’re pregnant is extremely scary.

In this WTHR video shared in December 2014, meet the Ausbrooks.  Ashley and Martin, of Indiana, were just getting used to the idea of being pregnant through IVF when a routine exam found a lump in Ashley’s breast.  At just 17 weeks pregnant, Ashley underwent a mastectomy and partial reconstruction followed by intense chemotherapy.
